KIKO Lipstick Review (MAC Velvet Teddy Dupe)

I finally placed my first KIKO Cosmetics order where I purchased, an eyebrow kit, eyeliner, lip pencils, matt primer, and a lipstick. I wasn't sure about the quality of the products so I only purchased   a few bits and bobs. I will be uploading reviews on all the items I ordered once I've used them.

The first item review from my first KIKO order is the Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick in shade 602 Natural Rose and I Purchased this for £6.90. Of course I'm going to start off with the sleek and classy packaging - the gold casing just made me want to purchase this product. The packaging isn't like a normal lipstick packaging for instance when you open the KIKO lipstick you have to push down on the top of the product and pull the lipstick apart from the case - which I think is an amazing touch to change up things in the beauty world.
KIKO LIPSTICK - £6.90 (Shade 602-Natural Rose)
KIKO Lipstick (Case)

In the title of this review I have written 'MAC Velvet Teddy Dupe) because I've found that this lipstick is both pigmented and is a dupe to Velvet Teddy shade. I've seen so many beauty blogger rave about this lipstick shade however I have not purchased it, I used my sister's and compared the both to find it is actually a really good dupe.

I applied the lipstick with a KIKO lip pencil to outline my lip line and then used the KIKO lipstick to fill in my lips. I've uploaded a picture of me wearing the product so you chicks get a better idea of the shade. I did however have to re-apply this lipstick once during the day after eating but overall is a good buy especially if you want to save a few extra pounds whilst looking to buy the Velvet Teddy 'Kylie Jenner' lipstick shade.  If you girlies do buy this lipstick be sure to let me know what you think through my twitter @Beauteajunkie which I have finally set up.

KIKO Cosmetics are based in Italy, Milano so shipping is really expensive to ship worldwide but at the moment and up until 28th February, KIKO are doing free delivery so if you want to place an order be sure to do it before then for free delivery girlies with the code 'LOVEAFFAIR'.

Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish - DUPE ALERT!

Only recently have I started shopping at Primark for their nail polishes. I know at first I was hesitant but with the VERY VERY cheap price at £1 I was sure that I wanted to pick up a few rather than having to wait in another longgg que at the tills - if you've ever shopped at Primark you'll understand me.

I picked up a few shades that I liked the most rather than picking up all the shades which I am planning to do when I visit the store next. Before I tried the P.S nail polishes I loved Maybelline's Colour Show nail polishes which can be purchased at Superdrug or Boots for £2.99. However after trying the Premark nail polishes for £1 I saw that both products do exactly the same thing but also that the P.S nail polishes were better in many ways.

Maybelline Colour Show £2.99 - Image Source: Maybelline
The P.S nail polishes only need two coats which I think is great personally as I don't want too much application on my nails as it tends to ruin and chip the next day however the Maybelline Colour Show needed three coats for its nude shades to actually show up on my nails. The P.S nail polish is also fast drying which just means that I don't need to use my Boujour Fast Drying Formula whereas the Maybelline Colour Show takes a lot longer to dry up.

This review/dupe blog post is based on my personal experience, I use Maybelline Colour Show, P.S, Maybelline Super Stay 7, Rimmel Salon Pro, and Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Polishes. I am now switching over to P.S nail polishes for the mean time as its student budget friendly and better application till I find the next best nail polish.

I hope you ladies enjoyed this post. Thank you for reading my lovelies.

My 2015 Make-up Wishlist

I know I'm a little or maybe 27 days late with this post but here it is finally, it just took time for me to decide on what I wanted on my wish list. Overall there's five products that i've looked at so far but will post up a new blog for my summer make-up wish list.

So first i've been dying over the Bobbi Brown Classic Brush Collection, they're so sleek and vintage looking which really has attracted me to it. I've never really shopped at Bobbi Brown but I am looking into this brand a lot more now along with Benefit as they have amazing products.

Bobbi Brown Classic Brush Collection - RRP £145.00 (Image Source: Bobbi Brown)

The second product which I am really excited to get my hands on is the Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake. I've recently ran low on my eyebrow powder so I've been shopping around and found this baby, I read great reviews on the site from customers who purchased the product so this little one definitely made it onto my wish list for Spring.
Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake - RRP £26.00 (Image Source: Illamasqua)
I recently purchased a Mac Blusher which I did write a haul post about on my blog. I've been looking a lot lately at the Sleek Blusher pallets and have heard they are dupes for the Nars Blushers. I am looking at the shades to find the right shade that I'm looking for and I will also post swatches on the blog soon.
Sleek Blusher in Shade: Suede - RRP £4.99 (Image Source: Sleek)

I've also been looking at the Nars Lipsticks which have such amazing shades. I have found two shades (Anna and Barbara) which are as you can see below beautiful nude shades which I shall get my hands soon - I will post swatches soon too. RRP £24.00 from Nars in Debenhams or Selfridges.

I hope you ladies enjoyed this post and do e-mail me if you'd like me to review any products.

Thank you for reading my lovelies.

My fave drugstore lip balms

Due to the season I wanted to do a post for you ladies on my fave drugstore lip care products that stick with me throughout the wintery season. As I use a lot of matte lipsticks during the day, my lips tend to dry up a lot so I use a chapsticks at night to hydrate my lips overnight.

My holy grail lip care product has definitely got to be the Superdrug 'The Little Soothing Green Lip Tin' - this product is simply amazing! I cannot express how well this product works. The Aloe Vera actively works on dry skin/scaly lips and as its a thicker formula than Vaseline it works at a faster pace and gets the job done straight away. I've been using this products just over a year and only use it on nights were I think my lips need an extra moisture and it works brilliantly. However the first time I used this product I felt as if my lips were burning as it work actively rather than over a couple of days. There's also the strong aloe vera smell which I hated at the start of using the product but I actually love it now as I know the product is doing its job so I would definitely recommend this product to whoever suffers from sore and dry lips constantly.
Superdrug - 'The Little Soothing Green Lip Tin' (£1.49 OR 3 for £3 on Selected products)
My second lip balm which I use on a daily basis overnight is the Nivea Lip balm in 'Essential Care'. I love using this product when I don't feel that my lips need such an active product such as the Superdrug lip balm as Nivea soothes my lips overnight. I found that after using the other products in this range the 'Essential Care' was the best as its a thin formula which soaks into the skin overnight leaving nothing behind in the morning.
Nivea - 'Essential Care' Lip Balm (£1.10 at Superdrug)
These are the two main lip balms that I currently use from the drugstore. If there are any that you ladies recommend or want me to review do leave a comment below.

MY MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

For this post I wanted to share with you ladies my morning and night routine as I only figured out what was good for my skin after testing a LOAD of different products. I change up my routine every few weeks and only use some harsh products on my skin from week to week so my skin isn't prone to damage.

I use my holy grail scrub, the St Ives apricot scrub which I literally cannot put in to words how much this product has saved my skin! I usually  purchase the 'Naturally Clean - Blemish Fighting' scrub but as Superdrug had a boxing day sale I decided to grab a few others to try out. This scrub is for oily/blemish prone skin which is why I use it, however it is harsh on the skin and as I have dry and sensitive skin I only use this up to three times a week. The micro-exfoliants helps lift away impurities, blackhead and oil that will lead to blemishes - I have been using this scrub nearly over a year and have found that it does work ladies. It does exactly what it says on the product and as everyone has different skin there are many different scrubs to suit the various types of skin. Many reviews I read before coming across this product were from teenagers who all said it helped them from acne and faded some red marks and spots. My skin is very blemish prone and after using this product I can definitely say I have seen a massive difference.

The different types include:
  1. Blemish Fighting for Oily/Blemish Prone Skin
  2. Invigorating scrub - All Skin Types
  3. Gentle Scrub - Dry/Sensitive Skin
  4. Renew and Firm - All Skin Types

After using the scrub I go in with my Body Shop Tea Tree Toner lightly over my face to give me clearer looking skin. I also use this product after removing my make-up as it helps in this process and also works to leave the skin shine free, so this product works on oily skin as well all skin types. I put the product onto a cotton wool pad and gently massage it all across my face focusing on the areas where I think I need the product more to help my skin. I only recently started using this product and I can honestly say my skin is looking clearer and more healthier looking day by day. A review for this this will be up on the blog soon.

Alongside this I also use the St Ives Olive scrub which gently moisturises the skin after using the Apricot scrub. After I use this scrub my skin feels softer and moisturised so in a nutshell this product actually works. I also had positive feedback from friends and family who I recommended it to and they said they cannot live without it so definitely check this one out my lovelies.

To finish off my morning routine I use the Tea Tree Clearing Lotion which gives me perfect wake up call as I apply it, it gives my skin a tingly feeling like its actually working. This is the perfect after cleansing lotion I have ever used, I came across this by accident as it was part of a box set (the tea tree range) which I honestly love. I will also be reviewing the entire range that I have used soon as I haven't used the products long enough to give my opinion. But this I will definitely buy again as I do think it actually does the job.

I will be blogging my night routine soon. I hope you ladies enjoyed this post. Please do comment if there are any reviews you'd like me to do.

SOAP AND GLORY GIFT SET BOX REVIEW

So I kind of spoilt myself just before christmas and gave myself a little treat by purchasing this 'AMAZING' gift box of some of my holy grail products which I cannot live without - literally. I purchased this gift box for £30.00 on offer with the contents together worth £60.00 which was a bargain! I picked up this beauty from Boots in the UK but it was also available on the Soap and Glory website and they do ship worldwide. The box consists of 10 full sized products, some of which are best sellers across the Soap and Glory line.

The gift box set includes:
• HAND DREAM™ Super Cream 100ml
• ORANGEASM™ Body Wash 500ml
• BUTTER YOURSELF™ Moisture Lotion 500ml
• HEEL GENIUS™ Foot Cream 125ml
• SUGAR CRUSH™ Body Scrub 300ml
• WHIPPED CLEAN™ Shower Butter 250ml
• THE RIGHTEOUS BUTTER™ Body Butter 300ml
• OFF YOUR FACE™ 3 in 1 Daily Purifying Cloths (25 cloths)
• SEXY MOTHER PUCKER™ Lip Lacquer in Charm Offensive 7ml
• THICK & FAST™ Super Volume Mascara 10ml
Soap & Glory 'The Next Big Thing' Gift Box.

The first product I had to use was the Thick and Fast Mascara which has now become my second favourite to the MAC False Lashes Mascara. The formula is thick and if you have straight and fine eyelashes like me then you need a mascara which gives you both the thickness and the curl. Unfortunately, I still haven't found such a mascara but I did come across a beauty blogger who recommend the Chanel Le Volume mascara which gives thickness like Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast but drops your lashes due to the thickness which is similar to this mascara. I like to finish off my lashes with Thick and Fast and its gives them a boost but remember as the formula is thick, too much application will make your lashes clumpy and unappealing. But overall, I do like this mascara and I will buy it again for its thickness - I will be purchasing the Chanel Le Volume mascara soon too. You can purchase this product at Boots or the Soap and Glory online site for £10.00.

The second product which I always buy so having a back up felt good is the Sugar Body Scrub. I absolutely love this product as its has macadamia oil, it leaves the skin soft whilst also exfoliating the dry skin. I love using this product twice a week in the shower before shaving so it lifts up any ingrowing hair to give me a clean shave. This product can be purchased from the Soap and Glory website or the Boots online site or in store for £8.00.

The Righteous Butter is another reason why I love Soap and Glory so much! The thick formula hydrates the skin and leaves it smelling beautiful. I use this product after a shower and I personally fell in love with the smell, this is my back up as i'm already working my way through one, whoops! This can also be purchased online at S&G and Boots for £10.50.

Personally, I am not a big fan of lip glosses as i'm more of a matte lipstick person so when I realised I had this product in the gift set I did plan on giving it away to a friend but I did some swatches on my hand I loved the shade (Half Baked). I will be doing an in-depth review on this product with pictures of me wearing it so its easier for you ladies to see the shade. This product is available at S&G online and Boots for £9.00.

When I first saw the wipes packet in the gift set I didn't bother reading it to see what they were for as I initially assumed they were make-up removal wipes however after getting home and unpacking my shopping I realised they were in fact purifying wipes. I used these wipes after my dettol exfoliation after taking my makeup of and I love them. My skin feels fresh and especially after taking all the make up off, my skin feels clean and ready for bed. This is the first time I have used purifying cloths so i'm not sure how many other companies do them but I will make sure to report back on the best ones I find. These cloths are available at S&G for £4.50 which is quite pricey for wipes but if they do the job, what more can a girl ask for?!

On a Sunday night I love doing a mani and pedi and I was on the lookout for a good hand and foot moisturiser so you can understand my excitement when I found that this box set had both the products I needed. The Heel Genius is actually a genius, its softens hard dry skin around your heel and if you're like me and you love wearing heels you need to protect your feet!

The hand moisturiser sits on my bed side drawer as I use it every night before I sleep, it has to be one of my holy grail products which I will never stop purchasing as I love it way too much. Heel Genius can be purchased for £5.50 and Hand Dream for £7.00.

The  Body Wash I haven't used as of yet as I'm still working through other products for reviews but a separate review will be available soon, so keep your eyes peeled ladies. The Orangeasm Body wash can be purchased for £6.50.

And lastly, the Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion was a new purchase as I haven never really been intrigued to purchase this item nor did I see the need, personally  However after using it I love it dearly, it has now entered my everyday routine and sits on my vanity waiting patiently to be used as it deserves to be. Its a thick and rich formula which works to clear up dry and patchy skin leaving its softer, smoother and best of all smelling like flowers. Unlike other drugstore lotions this formula works to sit into the skin straight away rather than later, so it'll get to work straight away - so if you're in a rush this is the best purchase you'll ever make and your skin will love you for it. This product can be purchased for £10.00 at S&G online or at Boots in-store or online.

The box is something that I will never throw out as I love the design wayyyyyy too much so i'd keep it for storage or keep it to sit under my vanity with my skincare and body care products. The products were in a drawstring bag which I found tacky as I was looking forward to something more organised from S&G, hopefully they'll outdo themselves next christmas.

I hope you ladies enjoyed this post. If you have any reviews you'd like me to do, please do comment below or drop me a message on my contact page.

Thank you for reading my lovelies.

MINI MAC HAUL

I finally received my package from Selfridges after ages but I didn't order much from this order as most of the stuff that I wanted was out of stock (sad face). Anyways I did pick up two little items which i've eagerly been waiting to get back in stock for me to purchase and FINALLY Selfridges was a doll.
MAC Powder Blush and Viva Glam III Lipstick

I picked up the MAC Powder Blush in the shade 'Dessert Rose' which is like a washed out red shade but blushers like these look flattering on all skin shades. I do own other MAC blushers which I will review soon and will also upload pictures of my collection. I purchased this little one in the Selfridges Sale from Boxing day which is still ongoing with further reductions with 10% off high end beauty (www.selfridges.com) - The RRP for this product was £18.00 but with the sale reduction I got it for £16.20 which personally I think is a great bargain for MAC item as I pay £15.50 for a MAC lipstick.

MAC Powder Blush in Shade 'Dessert Rose'
Alongside the MAC Powder Blusher I also purchased the VIVA GLAM Matte Lipstick in shade III. This is the perfect 'go to' shade for a look thats more concentrated on your eyes and contouring but I personally LOVE this shade as I'm staring to fall in love with darker shades day by day - thanks to the older sister. However there are downsides to wearing dark lipstick shades day in and say out - I've already posted a review for my favourite MAC Matte Lipsticks but I will be doing a review for this little one soon and I shall also post a picture of me wearing it so you have a better idea of the shade for your reference. This lipstick originally was £15.50 but with the sale I did get a bargain for £13.95 which is a great price for such a pigmented lipstick that looks amazing and stays put throughout the day.
